I once got invited to show my work at the Brick Lane Gallery in London, and that’s when the whole “Monsters Gallery” idea started cooking. I pictured these absurdly hairy, odd creatures with herb-infused names — because really, what’s the point of a meat-free monster? I began making a collection, mixing in a bit of light, shadow, and some playful electronics to give the pieces a wink of interactivity. Nothing deep or soul-searching — just playful, pen and ink monsters with a mischievous streak. A noodler’s dream.
